The Ottawa Citizen has a list of films opening in the coming months and has December Boys scheduled to open in Toronto on October 12 and in Vancouver on October 19 while Winipeg Sun has Oct 14 as the opening date for Canada.

I want it to be really good not just for me, but for all the crew who had a tough time because it was quite a tough shoot at that point. You know, I want it to be good for everyone that worked on it. It's actually those three other boys that were in it who were just the sweetest. I was very fond of them all so hopefully it'll turn out good for them as well. They were all really good little actors. I don't mean to sound patronizing, but they are. I mean they're all twelve and thirteen and the thirteen year-old boy looks about nine… and they're incredibly good. I was really impressed. Full interview

This is Dan's first raw, unadulterated acting as a true professional sans sepcial effects. Here, we get to see Dan steer Maps through angst, lust, protective brotherly love, anger and tearful sorrow. Maps is a touching character because he is believable. There is a lot of substance here for Dan to work with, and I think it was a fantastic selection for him to spread out and truly test his acting wings. His best scene?: Crying. Dan has learned that sometimes what is subtle and unspoken can speak volumes in his acting. Full review

Both Page and Jenna have received Dan's schedule for December Boys promos. The premieres in Melbourne on Sept 9 and in Sydney on Sept 11 will be the only premieres for the movie, no other premiere set for UK or US but there will be special screenings for press only in New York on Sept 4, Los Angeles on Sept 6 and in London on Sept 13. Press junket will start in London on Aug 30 and 31. In US Dan is scheduled to appear on the CW11, Early Show, Rachel Ray, Fuse, Jay Leno, Jimmy Kimmel and Ellen. In Australia, Dan will be on Rove, Ten, Nine MSN, A Current Affair and local TV station in Melbourne and Sydney. More details on the time and dates. Will try to grab all these junkets.

A report on the shooting of My Boy Jack where they had to use stunt double for a scene where Dan has to ride a motorbike

Daniel Radcliffe has hung up his broomstick for the summer and gone to Ireland, where is shooting an ITV drama, My Boy Jack. Based on David Haig's play, it follows Rudyard Kipling's search for his son, who went missing in action during the First World War. Radcliffe plays Jack Kipling. Sex in the City's Kim Cattrall is his mother. Our Dan finds himself not only having to wear a hairy suit and stick-on moustache, but in the unfamiliar position of being asked to ride a motorbike (rather than a household cleaning utensil). Problematically, the 18-year-old has not yet found time away from earning his £23m Harry Potter fortune to pass a driving test. "Daniel can't ride the bike on set but we have stuntmen and doubles who can do that for him," says a studio source. "We do use Daniel for all the close-ups because all he has to do is sit on the bike whilst it's not moving."

Dan has been nominated best male performance in OOTP in the first ever British National Movie Awards. The winners will be chosen by a public vote and the event will be held at London's Royal Festival Hall and screened on ITV1 on September 29. Update: Voting is now open to public, click here to vote for Dan and OOTP, your vote must be in by September 2.

The recent heavy download of OOTP media files has caused an overload on my server and as a result I am asked to upgrade to a dedicated server. My server has been very kind in letting me stay all these times even though I have been using alot of resources but unfortunately the time is needed for me to upgrade, with HP 6 and 7 in the future and December Boys coming, it's best that I upgrade sooner than later. So to ensure that the site keeps running I really need your help. I hate to beg but I have no choice. As we know, Dan will attend the premiere of December Boys in Sydney next month, unfortunately his co-star Teresa Palmer will not be joining him due to her film commitments. Dan's castmates Jack Thompson and Victoria Hill and director Rod Hardy will attend the premiere at Moore Park's Entertainment Quarter.

For Radcliffe, it's just another day at the office, the young actor having developed a method of tricks and treats to help him through the annual promotional circus. The way the rest of us develop our own little methods of surviving long-distance flights.

One of the tricks today, he tells me, is a conspiracy between himself and his two lead co-stars in the Potter franchise, Rupert Grint (who plays comic sidekick Ron Weasley) and Emma Watson (who plays the determined Hermione Granger) to give one unsuspecting Japanese journalist completely different answers to the same question. "There's always this tendency to get the same questions over and over again," smiles Radcliffe, "and so, you know, we thought we could have a little fun with that. The poor woman is going to go home with a real twister. It'll be interesting to see how she makes sense of it all."

"It was amazing doing 'Extras', as I think it's great – big fans of Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant. The parody I play in the show, I felt that could be the person people expected me to turn out to be. So, it was quite fun to play up to that. If ever I think I'm getting too fond of myself, I'll just pop on that episode of Extras, and realise where that kind of thinking might just lead." Full interview

A mention on Dan's Aussie accent in December Boys

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe had some Australian beach time filming the drama December Boys. Screenings display his strong grasp of Strine, his character correctly pronouncing a ship's chief "skippa", and the local term of benediction: "Theirnks." The multimillionaire 18-year-old makes just a few slip-ups. His language skills climax with the Big M word: "Go on, mate." Radcliffe and co-stars including Jack Thompson and Victoria Hill shot the PG-rated film on the South Australian coast. It opens on September 14, with the star due a few days before to say hi.

Daniel Radcliffe has snubbed the South Australian premiere of the locally made film December Boys - but surprise, surprise, he'll still walk Melbourne and Sydney's red carpets. The film, with a scene inset left, was shot in and around Adelaide and Kangaroo Island last year, with the interiors filmed at the SA Film Corporation's Hendon sound stages, and will premiere next month.

Producer Richard Becker apologised for the Harry Potter actor's no-show. "In fact I wanted to organise a screening at Kangaroo Island," he says. "But it takes a day to get out there and get back and given he's only going to be in Australia for something like three days it just wasn't going to be possible." Given the SAFC invested $350,000 in the film, spokesman Stephan Greun was rightly saddened by the news SA would miss out on a glittering premiere with the star. "It's certainly disappointing," he says.

But December Boys' SA publicist Sue Hill says major stars often maximised the publicity they got from short visits by appearing on television. "TV is done out of Melbourne and Sydney and if they're going to be on the TV then they have to be in those states," she says. With co-star Teresa Palmer also no certain starter, the premiere is looking a little disorganised – a theatre hasn't even been booked yet.

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe will walk the red carpet on September 9 at the Rivoli in Camberwell for his new Aussie-made film, December Boys. Confidential had a sneak peek of the film last night, and Radcliffe's character is as far removed from his role in the Potter blockbusters as you could imagine. He plays a young Aussie orphan from the Outback, and has to master an Australian accent, which, apart from a couple of slip-ups, the English-born and bred Radcliffe does very well. Bring tissues when the film is released in a couple of months. Radcliffe's co-star is Teresa Palmer, until recently boyfriend of former AFL player Stuart Dew, and tipped to be the next big Aussie It girl in Hollywood.

If further proof was needed that Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe has left behind the world of magic and spells, surely pictures of him sporting a moustache should do the trick. In his first TV drama role since finding fame as the schoolboy wizard, Radcliffe, who turned 18 last month, stars in the World War One film, 'My Boy Jack' where he trades his school uniform for the rather more mature attire of the Irish Guards. However the familiar specs are still there.

The true story looks at how Rudyard Kipling used his influence to get his 17-year-old son Jack (played by Radcliffe) a commission with the Irish Guards, despite his son's poor eyesight. Jack went missing in action during the Battle of Loos and his mother and father carried out an ardent search for him, spanning many years and many miles of soul-destroying discovery.

Australian artist, Rick Price has written the opening track for December Boys called 'Nobody Knows My Name' sung by Mitch Grainger. He also produced two others for the soundtrack called "Open Up Your Heart" which he also sang, and "Who'll Stop The Rain", performed by Jen Cloher. You can listen to opening track at Rick's MySpace. Must say Rick still looks mighty fine, I used to have a huge crush on the guy :-)
